2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Charles Scott, RB, LSU
After spending two seasons as a backup for the LSU Tigers, Scott exploded into national prominence in 2008. The bruising running back racked up 1174 yards on 217 carries (5.4 average) and scored a whopping 18 touchdowns. He was named to the All-SEC First Team by the coaches and All-SEC Second Team by the media. It was slower going for Scott through six games of his senior campaign, as the LSU offense struggled as a whole. Scott's physical attributes, however, are undeniable. He stands in at 6'0' and 233 pounds, so it goes without saying that he is a load to bring down, especially when he finds an opening -- or runs over someone -- and gets up to full speed. Scott lost 15 pounds during the offseason and improved speed has allowed him to find success on the outside in addition to pounding out yards straight through the middle of opposing defenses. Still, he does not project as an every-down back in the NFL (teams rarely use one back now, anyway) since he lacks top-notch speed and is not much of a threat as a pass-catcher out of the backfield. For any team that needs a big back to compliment a speedster, however, Scott would be an ideal choice. Look for him to come off the board during the second round of the 2010 draft.

He never showed up when LSU played big schools or games.
