2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report:
person
Crezdon Butler, CB, Clemson
It did not take long for Crezdon Butler to become a consistent corner at Clemson. As a true freshman he became the first Tiger freshman to pick off two passes in a game since 2002. He never started a game that season, but he did total 34 tackles and tied a team high with three interceptions. By the following season Butler was a starter and he has been ever since. Like in 2006, Butler recorded three interceptions on the season, but as a starter he was more involved and finished the season with 61 tackles. By 2008 Butler was a leader in a very talented secondary. He intercepted four passes and his 52 tackles ranked sixth on the team. Heading into the 2009 campaign Butler needed just 80 interception return yards to become Clemson's all-time leader in that category. However, through the regular season Butler has totaled just one interception for 47 yards. He still has the bowl game to try and set that record, but Butler's numbers were down in 2009. While he did break up a team high ten passes, he only had 33 tackles. The relatively disappointing senior season and his lack of size at 6-0 and 185 pounds is keeping Butler pretty low on most draft boards. He has been a very productive player at times, but the lack of consistency and size is something that even a great Senior Week cannot remedy.
