Blake Bortles Scouting Report

At the beginning of the 2013 season, Bortles was a little known redshirt senior coming off a pretty good 2012 season in which he led the Knights to a 10-4 record. Now, he's a high-rising star who could challenge Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater as the No. 1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Bortles has the ideal height and build for NFL QBs. Can evade out of the pocket and pick up tough yards. Surprisingly good scrambler a la Andrew Luck. Sees the field really well and flows right through his progressions. Very good arm strength, not quite elite. Accuracy comes and goes, but that could be cleaned up with technique improvements. Takes chances with the football. Improved every year he was at UCF. Outdueled Bridgewater to lead UCF to huge win that really put them on the map in 2013.

Very confident in his decision-making. Displays good leadership. Plays under control emotionally. Hangs in the pocket to deliver the football when under duress.

Bortles projects as a Top 10 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.

FANTASY OUTLOOK: Not an entirely polished prospect, so it's unlikely he blows up as a rookie. Worth a late-round flier if he is the presumed starter and you have an elite starting QB. Late second to early third round pick in dynasty drafts. Currently being drafted in the 14th round of dynasty start-up drafts.
