geeze someon who could cover---someone who can hit---I would love to see him in Cleveland
hope dolphins trade up to get him. would make the their first two picks from last year even better.
I have always lived in Knoxville and I have been to many, many Tennessee games, I have seen great players in Neyland Stadium. I watched Peyton Manning become the quarterback he is now, but I never heard an entire stadium chant Manning every game six or seven times. Eric Berry is probably the best defensive player to step foot on UT's campus since the late Reggie White. He covers like a corner, and hits like a linebacker. He is football fast, and when he has the ball in his hand you simply hold your breath, because you know something amazing could, and probably will happen. He is a team player who will sacrifice personal stats for the good of the team, like playing the run instead of free roaming this year. He just has a certain feel for the field that very few players have. Eric Berry will be an All-Pro for the next ten years with whoever he goes to. If the monster named Suh were not in this class he would be the best player in the draft. Whoever gets lucky enough to select Berry will solidify their defense for the next decade.
If the Rams take Suh, I will be praying to god for the couple minutes we have between picks that the Lions draft this guy! We just signed DT Terrance Taylor, so I hope we don't take McCoy! Delmas and Berry roaming in the secondary, look out!
I think the same B atch. I think an offensice lineman would be a good selection for the Lions. But how can you pass on a guy like Berry?
I will agree that the Lions need some pieces on the O line, but we have made bad 1st round draft picks on the O line. We need to stop somebody on defense, and I hope we draft all defense and find offensive needs in the free agency.
Well I am a old broken hearted Detroit Lions fan.I have seen what look to be great #1 choices on paper and that's what they were.Problem was it was flash paper.I think Detroit made a great pic in Mat Stafford, when he got hurt last year he show his team he was a true mans QB something Detroit hasn't had in years. You can bet the offensive line respects him far more now and will try harder to protect him in the future. But what Mat needs is a defense that can put him back on the field again and again. My money says Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska or Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma.Sorry we had a Barry and this Berry is just as special but don't fit in Detroit at this time.
Lions need tackles OT and DT. Delmas is a solid safety in Detroit. FS's slide and if the Dolphins draft him at 12 I'll be happier than Terence Cody at an all you can eat buffet.
As for his size 5'11'' 203 here is a couple of pretty good safety's:
Polomalu 5'10'' 207
Bob Sanders 5'8'' 206
Ed Reed 5'11'' 200
Jairus Byrd 5'10'' 200
He is a Bob Sanders Ed Reed cross, he is the best player in the draft but saftey's are underrated. A ballhawk should not be in my opinion cuz a ball hawk S and press CB's open up blitz packages.
Eric Berry is the best Safety prospect since the late Sean Taylor(R.I.P). He has Ed Reed like instincts with, with Bob Sanders Explosion and the speed of a corner back. This guy is the complete package, he's the best overall player in this draft!
