Quarterbacks
It appears the Cardinals have no idea who will be playing QB for them on Sunday. Carson Palmer is "at about 80 percent" and "has some decent velocity" on his throws. He has not been ruled out. Drew Stanton, who suffered a concussion last week, did gain clearance to play Friday, but Logan Thomas took the first-team reps all week. The Cardinals could potentially activate all three QBs for Week 6 and not announce a starter until just prior to kickoff … Jake Locker is listed as questionable but didn't practice at all due to his thumb injury. Despite rumors of rookie Zach Mettenberger getting the start, Charlie Whitehurst is expected to start if Locker can't go. He could be on a short leash … Josh McCown is doubtful for Week 6. The QB controversy in Tampa will have to wait another week … Injured rookie QBs Derek Carrand Teddy Bridgewater are both expected to return this week … Michael Vick admitted that he was not properly prepared to face the Chargers in Week 5. Geno Smith will start in Week 6 but will likely once again be looking over his shoulder … Rumors surfaced that Robert Griffin III was targeting a Week 8 return. The Washington Post has since stated that those reports were inaccurate … Tom Brady popped up on the Patriots' injury report on Friday. He is officially listed as questionable with an ankle injury. The Patriots have a history of using the injury report to "mislead" their opposition. Chances are Brady will be good to go come Sunday afternoon.
Running Backs
Montee Ballsuffered a groin injury in Week 5 and is expected to miss at least two weeks, but he could potentially be sidelined significantly longer than that. Ronnie Hillman will get the first crack at the starting role. C.J. Anderson and Juwan Thompson will also be in the mix ... Knowshon Moreno is surprisingly listed as probable after being expected to be out until at least Week 8 … Zac Stacy returned to practice on Friday after straining his calf in Week 5. He is expected to play Monday night. However, he may be limited … Reggie Bush is expected to miss Sunday's game versus the Vikings. Joique Bell will return from his concussion and be the starting back. Theo Riddickis also expected to return with an increased role … Donald Brown has been ruled out for Week 6 due to a concussion, and last week's breakout star Branden Oliver will get the start. Ryan Mathews has not even resumed running yet. The Chargers also signed Ronnie Brown … Toby Gerhart will not suit up for the Jags after aggravating a foot injury in practice. Seventh-round rookie Storm Johnson will likely see more carries in his stead … Bishop Sankey is expected to see the bulk of the carries against the Jaguars with Shonn Greene doubtful due to a hamstring injury … Fred Jackson injured his ankle last week but is expected to play Sunday against the Patriots … Rashad Jennings sprained his MCL in Week 5 and will not play this week. He will most likely miss a few weeks. Rookie Andre Williams will start in his absence … Jonathan Stewart is expected to be a game-time decision on Sunday while DeAngelo Williams remains out with a high ankle sprain … The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported "It appears the Packers plan maintain a split" between Eddie Lacy and James Starks. Last week, Starks and Lacy each played on 27 offensive snaps … Mark Ingram expects to return from his broken hand in Week 7, immediately after the Saints' bye week … The Buccaneers plan on sticking with the struggling Doug Martin. At some point they will have to lean on their other, more productive RBs … Falcons head coach Mike Smith said Antone Smith has earned more touches. He has 277 yards and four scores on just 17 touches this season … Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said his backfield will remain a three-man rotation … Adrian Peterson may be going back to jail after violating the terms of his bond when he admitted to "smoking a little weed."
Wide Receivers
The Bengals' superstar WR A.J. Green was carted off the field after re-aggravating a toe injury. He is officially questionable for Week 6 but could miss multiple games. Marvin Jones also looks likely to miss another game. Mohamed Sanu will be the interim No. 1 WR … Bucs rookie Mike Evans is on track to play after missing just one game. He was expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks with a groin injury. Teammate Vincent Jackson was held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday because of a rib injury. However, he was back on the field Friday and is expected to be ready for the Ravens … It is extremely unlikely Calvin Johnson suits up this weekend against the Vikings. He may miss more than just one game due to his ankle injury … After injuring his hip last Thursday. Cordarrelle Patterson is probable for Sunday's game. Offensive coordinator Norv Turner said the team has been "anxious" to get him more involved in the offense … Despite being listed as probable, Cecil Shorts may miss Sunday's game due to a nagging hamstring injury. Jags rookie wideout Marqise Lee is expected to return to action for the first time since Week 2… It's looking like Eric Deckerwill play for the Jets versus Denver. Fellow WR David Nelson is not expected to go … Harry Douglas has been ruled out for the third consecutive week due to a foot injury. Devin Hester will continue to assume the No. 3 WR role ... ESPN Bears reporter Michael Wright stated that he believes the team will make it a point to target Brandon Marshalloften this week. Head coach Marc Trestman also stated he would like to see Marshall get more touches … Raiders interim head coach Tony Sparano stated that Denarius Moore will be given a "clean slate" in Oakland after being in Dennis Allen's dog house… Saints rookie Brandin Cooks led the team's WR corps in snaps in Week 5 … The Ravens are focusing on getting more production from Torrey Smith … Jarrett Boykin is expected to be inactive once again in Week 6 due to groin and knee injuries. Aaron Rodgers mentioned he noticed Boykin's replacement, rookie Davante Adams, creating a lot of separation on film … The Dolphins' Brandon Gibson is doubtful for Week 6 because of a hamstring injury. Rookie Jarvis Landry could get his shot to make a big-time fantasy impact … Justin Hunter could be bumped up to No. 2 WR on the Titans' depth chart … Chargers wideout Malcom Floyd, who is battling a calf injury, is listed as questionable and may not be able to suit up Sunday … Kenny Britt missed Rams practice on Friday and appears to be in serious danger of missing Monday night's game because of yet another knee injury.
Tight Ends
It looks like Jordan Reed will finally make his return on Sunday. He is a game-time decision but is expected to play … Vernon Davis is on track to get back on the field Monday night … Mike McCarthy stated that he "wouldn't be surprised" if Brandon Bostick saw some playing time against Miami. Andrew Quarless and Richard Rodgers have given the Packers very little production at the position … Joseph Fauria has yet to return to practice and will miss his third consecutive game. In the meantime, Eric Ebron will continue to see more snaps … Sean Payton said Jimmy Graham's shoulder is "doing fine." He may be able to return after the bye week without missing a game. That didn't stop the Saints from signing Tom Crabtree as an insurance policy … Bill Belichick stated that "nobody works harder" than Tim Wright. After a productive Week 5 and those comments, Wright may be approaching fantasy relevancy … The Cardinals' Troy Niklas suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 5.
