Week 9: Sit 'Em
WR Torrey Smith, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Torrey Smith has filled in for an injured Lee Evans and had some quality production. However, I do not think this week vs. Pittsburgh is the week to start Smith. Boldin is the first passing option in Baltimore and Ray Rice and the ground attack are preferred to having Flacco throw the ball. This week the Baltimore and Pittsburgh match-up will be defensively focused. I also think that Baltimore will feature its running attack. Smith may be a flex or third receiver option down the road during some easier match-ups, but keep him on your bench this week.
TE Tim Tebow, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
"Tebowing" became a one week wonder after Tim Tebow and Denver were dismantled by Detroit's surging squad this past week. Tebow fared well against the brutal Miami defense and struggling offense, but in Week 8 showed what can happen when his team faces a real contender. This week Tebow and his teammates will square off against a solid Oakland team that is also a contender. Look for Tebow to get torn up again this week. Tebow has the upside of his ability to run the ball, but I do not think it will be long before we see him fall victim to some sort of injury (minor or major) that will limit his mobility. Most mobile QBs in the league suffer an injury sooner or later and I have a feel Tebow's will be sooner at this stage. Look for Tebow to throw for around 125 yards this week with more interceptions than touchdowns> He will likely add 40-50 yards rushing, but not score on the ground. Many of Tebow's receivers may also be worth a sit in the weeks to come if Denver cannot figure out how to protect Tebow and buy him time to adequately pass the ball.
