Week 9: Start 'Em
WR Brandon Lloyd, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Many question if Brandon Lloyd is really worthy of a starter. The answer to that all comes down to the type of league you're in. If you're in a league that starts more than two receivers and/or a flex, Lloyd looks to be a good start this week and most likely for the rest of the season. Will he put up the numbers he put up last year? Not likely, but he will definitely put up enough fantasy points to warrant a starting spot, (especially this week, even more so in PPR leagues). So far since being traded to St. Louis, Brandon Lloyd has caught 6 passes in each game for 127 total yards and 1 touchdown. This week he has a great match-up vs the Arizona Cardinals, who are giving up 277 yards passing per game. If you need a WR3 or flex starter and Lloyd is sitting on your bench, make sure to put him in.
TE Jake Ballard, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Most Giants fans were wondering who would replace the departed Kevin Boss this season. Well, who would have thought that after eight weeks, undrafted free agent Jake Ballard would be outperforming the departed Boss? So far this season, Ballard has caught 19 passes (15 over the last 4 weeks) for 323 and 2 touchdowns; while Boss only has 8 catches for 160 yards and 1 touchdown. Although Ballard has been a big help and surprise for the Giants offense, he still isn't much more than a bye week or injury fill-in and this week's match-up is perfect for that as he faces the Patriots. New England is giving up a league worst 323 yards passing per game and don't seem to have much of an answer for tight ends. Take a look at last week's game: Heath Miller was all over them for 7 catches for 85 yards. With a juicy match-up like this, give Ballard a shot.
