Week 2: Sit 'Em

Mike Tolbert - need I say more! Tolbert stole the show from Mathews in Week 1 and this was just another disappointment to Mathews owners who thought that he might bounce back from last season where we saw much of the same. Mathews gained 45 yards on 12 carries to Tolbert's 35 yards on 12 carries, but Tolbert got the rushing score. Tolbert also fared better in the passing game with 9 receptions for 58 yards and two touchdowns. Mathews caught three passes for 73 yards. For now, I am leaving Mathews on my bench, especially this week against New England. I hope that this workload evens out in terms of the scoring opportunities, or else Mathews will continue to lose value.

OchoCERO, not Ochocinco! Boy was I wrong in starting Ochocinco this past week. I thought for sure that he and Brady would connect at least a few times for some solid yardage and maybe a score. I was completely mistaken. One reception for 14 yards is not what I want to see out of one of my starting receivers. My recommendation this week against San Diego is to put Ochocinco on your bench and maybe keep him there for a few more weeks to come. Now that I say this and put him on my bench, he will probably have a terrific game; all in all, he is a risky fantasy play at this stage. I personally cannot afford to have such a low scoring option in my three wide receiver set in my league. Good luck making the call with this one.
