Week 1: Sit 'Em
TO has appeal to many fantasy owners. In season's past he has made center stage with yardage and touch downs in season openers. Last season was not one of those seasons and this year he has jumped ships again for a new team. Carson Palmer is a solid passer and having Ochocinco as a partner in crime should be interesting, but I cannot seem to come to believing in TO as a solid fantasy option. I foresee TO having wild swings in his performance and this is not the type of wide out I look for. Week 1 is a match-up with New England and I see Brady controlling this outing. Look for Palmer and his offense to just try to keep pace or for that matter change up Brady's pace. TO will have a few receptions for mediocre yardage, but I see no score.
Atlanta faces a stout Pittsburgh defense in Week 1. Gonzalez is aging and that means his speed, agility and ability to make plays is fading. Atlanta will rely heavily upon their running game to assist Matt Ryan with passing schemes that make big plays. Gonzalez will be a safety valve; as great as that sounds, it actually relegates him to a four receiving option. I think the Atlanta offense will take it to Pittsburgh on the ground to eat up the clock. Pittsburgh will be struggling with quarterback issues no doubt and Atlanta will try to maintain possession. Pittsburgh will also try to set a strong ground attack. That means the ball will stick close to the ground most of this outing. Gonzalez will not see the looks we might expect in Week 1.
