Sophomore Outlook
WR Michael Crabtree, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Michael Crabtree missed the first 5 games due to a lengthy holdout, but when he finally signed and started to play it was quite obvious why the 49ers drafted him #10 overall in the NFL draft. He finished the season playing the last 11 games, catching 48 passes for 625 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is the unquestioned top wide receiver for the 49ers with great hands and a knack for being at the right place at the right time. Going into this season, he is a very good pick as a #3 fantasy WR, with a good chance to be a #2 fantasy WR by mid season (especially in PPR leagues).
WR Percy Harvin, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Percy Harvin was much better than most people expected. Many weren't sure how he really fit into an NFL offense. Well after 60 receptions for 790 yards and 6 touchdowns (and don't forget his 1,156 kick off return yards along with 2 other exciting touchdowns in only 15 games), you need to take him seriously. The drawback with Harvin was that he was inconsistent, having a few huge weeks and a few very quiet weeks and dealing with migraine issues that still seem to dog him a bit. The other thing to consider is how the offense would be if Brett Favre doesn't come back. Who are we kidding? Favre will be back. Going into the draft Harvin is a #3 fantasy WR or a flex starter, but his ranking jumps if you count return yards and/or are in a PPR league.
WR Jeremy Maclin, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
For the 2nd year in a row the Eagles spent a top draft pick on a receiver and for the 2nd year in row they got a big play maker. Maclin played in 15 games as a rookie and caught 55 passes for 773 yards and 4 touchdowns. He plays opposite DeSean Jackson and that should help get some easier coverage, giving him a lot of opportunity to produce. With Donovan McNabb being traded, a lot will have to do with how good Kevin Kolb is. If Kolb can be productive like McNabb, Maclin should be a fine low end #3/flex starter.
WR Hakeem Nicks, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
When the Giants drafted Hakeem Nicks in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft they were hoping that he would help fans forget about Plaxico Burress, they just didn't think it would happen so soon. After being a question mark going into the season, Hakeem Nicks teamed up with Steve Smith and Mario Manningham to form one of the best young trios of receivers in the NFL. Despite only playing 14 games, Nicks caught 47 passes for 790 yards and 6 touchdowns. While Steve Smith has become Eli Manning's go to man underneath, Nicks is his big play receiver. Nicks goes into the season as a #3 fantasy WR or flex starter.
WR Mike Wallace, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Despite playing behind Hines Ward and Santonio Holmes, Mike Wallace was able to put up some surprising numbers. He caught 39 passes for 756 yards and 6 touchdowns, becoming the Steelers' big play receiver. This season has good and bad news; the good news is Santonio Holmes is gone and Wallace will now be starting opposite Hines Ward. The bad news is that QB Ben Roethlisberger is suspended for the first 4 games of the season. So if you draft him, be patient if he starts slow. Going into the draft he is a #3 fantasy WR.
