Week 5: Waiver Wire Pickups
The only member of this list with a reasonable shot at making it into the NFL Hall of Fame, Hester made his name as a return man. But with No. 3 WR Harry Douglas struggling with a foot injury, the Falcons have started using Hester as a wide receiver. And they've had decent results so far. In his last two games, Hester has totaled six catches for 95 yards and a touchdown, plus a 20-yard rushing touchdown and a return touchdown. Hester was targeted a startling seven times on Sunday. As long as Douglas is out, Hester should continue to see enough opportunity to merit flex consideration in deep leagues. And if your league gives fantasy points for return touchdowns, there's always the chance of Hester breaking one loose.MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%
The Jets spent a second-round pick on Amaro in the this year's draft, and they've worked him into their game plan quickly. The Texas Tech product measures up at 6-foot-5 and ran a 4.74 40-yard dash at the combine, which is quick for a player of his size. He has caught eight of nine targets in his last two games and should soon become a big presence in the Jets' red-zone passing game. Amaro is worth consideration as both a bye-week fill-in and a rest-of-season backup.
