Week 15: IDP Sleepers
CB Ronald Bartell, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Filling in for the injured Tye Hill, Ron Bartell has become one of the most heavily targeted cornerbacks over the last few weeks. His decent '07 stats are more a result of teams testing him than they are due to any outstanding play on his part, but he's still worth a look as a replacement CB pick-up in deeper IDP leagues. At this point in the season, it's sometimes best just to field healthy bodies.
S Dexter Jackson, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Was he really a Super Bowl MVP? Jackson is destined to become an obscure sports trivia reference, but this veteran playmaker still has plenty left in the tank. He's a steady source of tackles and is definitely capable of making things happen. The Bengals wrap up their season against San Francisco, Cleveland, and Miami…so a few more picks are likely in the forecast for this little known player.
S Sean Jones, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
He was expected to flourish as one of the league's top safeties this year, but took a significant step back in terms of tackling. After a relatively slow start, Jones has exploded lately with 4 interceptions in his last 6 games. He's already matched his sack and interception totals from last year and looks to be developing nicely in his second-year as a starter. In shallower leagues, he makes a great replacement for some of the big name safeties that have been falling like flies lately.
S Kevin Kaesviharn, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
With Josh Bullocks still questionable for this weekend, serious IDP-leaguers and owners in need of safety help could do worse than to scoop up Kaesviharn as a safety valve. As a starter in Cincinnati last year, he had 4 sacks and 6 picks. He's not an outstanding player by any means, but he has a history of making big plays.
CB Marcus Trufant, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Marcus Trufant has been woefully underrated all of his five years in the NFL. Despite being a physical, lock-down corner who's averaging over five tackles per game for his career, his name rarely shows up in discussions of the league's top corners. Maybe a game like the gem he put together against Kurt Warner and the Cardinals last week (3 picks and a touchdown) will help him get the credit he deserves.
