Week 14: IDP Sleepers
DT Jovan Haye, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Jovan Haye is emerging as that rarest and most wonderful of IDP beasts: the run-stopping pass-rusher. The under-tackle position in Monte Kiffin's defense has produced some great IDPs in Warren Sapp and Booger McFarland, and now this second year player out of Vanderbilt is getting his shot. If you're playing in a league with a DT slot, Haye really has considerable value because of the relatively high tackle and sack numbers for an interior lineman.
DT Marcus Thomas, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
If you're a hard-core IDP owner, then you know that even the most seemingly insignificant personnel movement can open a window of fantasy opportunity. The Bronco's release of Sam Adams is probably less an indication of the big man's play and more of a sign that it was time for Denver to commit to its younger players. They have a deceptively fast 315 pound replacement for Adams in Marcus Thomas, their 4th round pick out of Florida. He might not be a factor right away, but, with his size and speed looks to be the wave of the future and is certainly worth keeping an eye on.
LB Larry Foote, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
The forgotten member of the Steelers' linebacking corps has recorded at least a half sack in each of his last three games while adding nineteen tackles over the same span. He's well on his way to a third straight season of the kind of solid, well-rounded production that should have earned him more notoriety than he currently enjoys. Foote is a prime example of a player who flies below the radar.
LB Ian Gold, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
This recommendation is a little bit labor intensive; you'll need to do some follow up reading before Sunday, but Ian Gold has been putting up some solid numbers lately and deserves a shot in deeper IDP leagues. In the last four weeks he's recorded a pick, a sack, 2 fumble recoveries and a forced fumble to go along with decent tackle numbers. His week 13 was shortened due to a neck injury, though, so check up on his progress before game time.
LB Morlon Greenwood, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Morlon Greenwood is a solid veteran linebacker who seems to consistently save his best play for the end of the season. If he maintains his current pace, this will be the third consecutive year in which he's managed to record 100+ tackles. Given Houston's offensive struggles lately, you could do worse than pick up this grounded and reliable LB who will see plenty of field time in the coming weeks.
