Week 14: Pickups of the Week
RB Reuben Droughns, ---

With Brandon Jacobs out Sunday with an injury, Derrick Ward started and had a great game, but he possibly broke a bone late in the game. So now it appears that Reuben Droughns is the only healthy RB for the Giants. He has been mostly used as a short yardage RB this year, getting the goal line carries. However if you have a roster spot available, you might want to pick him up to see what develops this week (and if you are a Jacobs owner you better pick up Droughns as a handcuff).
RB Fred Jackson, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Who? The unknown RB from Coe College was the starting RB for the Buffalo Bills this past weekend, helping the Bills pull the upset win over Washington. Jackson had 16 carries for 82 yards, plus 4 receptions for 69 yards. Marshawn Lynch and Anthony Thomas' injury situation for this coming week against the Miami Dolphins' #30 ranked run defense is in question, so if Jackson gets the start, he could be worth starting in a very favorable matchup. If you have a roster spot available, he is worth picking up in larger leagues just in case.
WR Arnaz Battle, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Arnaz Battle leads the 49ers in receiving this year with 43 receptions for 545 yards and 4 TDs. San Francisco has favorable matchups the next two games versus Minnesota (#32 pass defense) and Cincinnati (#26 pass defense). Based on the fact that Battle is still a free agent in almost all league formats, he could be worth picking up for a roster spot.
WR Mike Furrey, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
As we write this, there is an early report out of Detroit on Monday afternoon that Roy Williams could miss the next few games or even the rest of the season for the Lions. I recommend keeping an eye on this, but if you have a roster spot available on your team then grab up Mike Furrey or Shaun McDonald immediately if you need WR help. Both WRs should see their roles increase over the last 3-4 games of the fantasy season.
WR Justin Gage, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Besides the fact that Justin Gage leads the Titans in receiving this season, he has become Vince Young's favorite target over the past few games. He had 5 receptions for 64 yards, plus a TD in the win over Houston. In his past four games, he has 22 receptions for 318 yards, plus 2 TDs. If you are looking for WR help this late in the year, Gage could be worth picking up for a roster spot.
WR Bryant Johnson, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Larry Fitzgerald was out with an injury and Anquan Boldin left Sunday's game with an injury, so Bryant Johnson became Kurt Warner's favorite receiver in the win over Cleveland with 6 receptions for 56 yards, plus a TD. If you are looking for a WR to take a chance on, then consider picking up Johnson for a roster spot (and keep an eye on Fitzgerald's and Boldin's injury status this week because he could be worth starting).
