Week 14: Pickups of the Week
Waiver Wire Watch: Looking Ahead to Week 14
As we all head into Week 14, most head to head type leagues have either already started their league's playoffs, or are heading for the playoffs this weekend. In some leagues, most league's free agent pickup deadlines have either passed or are rapidly approaching and some leagues have already stopped allowing pickups and froze all the teams rosters. But if your league is still allowing free agent pickups, then here are some possible pickups that might still be available in your league...
QB A.J. Feeley, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
We named Feeley last week due to McNabb's injury and McNabb remained out again this week, allowing Feeley to get another start. In the past two games, he was 27 of 42 for 345 yards, 3 TDs, plus 3 interceptions against New England and against Seattle on Sunday, he was 19 of 42 for 220 yards, 1 TD, and 4 interceptions. Keep an eye on McNabb's status for this week, but if he is out again, then Feeley is worth picking up. Although he will throw some interceptions, the Eagles are a pass offense, so he should get some decent fantasy stats.
QB Gus Frerotte, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
With Marc Bulger still out with an injury, Frerotte got another start for the Rams this past weekend and led them to a win over the Atlanta Falcons. He was 23 of 35 for 311 yards, 3 TDs, and 2 interceptions. If you are in a league that starts 2 QBs, or desperate for a one week play, then the Rams have a very favorable matchup with Cincinnati's #26 ranked pass defense coming in week fourteen. I would keep an eye on Bulger's status for this week, but Frerotte is worth taking a chance on if you are desperate for a QB play this coming week.
QB Luke McCown, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
McCown got the start for the Buccaneers this past weekend with Jeff Garcia sidelined with an injury and he led them to a big win over the Saints. McCown's 29 of 37 for 313 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception performance is worth mentioning to fantasy owners. It is possible Garcia could return this week, so keep an eye on that situation before picking him up, but Tampa Bay's next three games are against Houston, Atlanta, and San Francisco.
QB Aaron Rodgers, PIT
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
After Brett Favre left Thursday's game against Dallas with an injury, Rodgers look very effective going 18 of 26 for 201 yards, plus a TD in the comeback attempt. Favre's status for this week is still unclear at this time, but if you are a Favre owner, I would recommend grabbing up Rodgers for a roster spot just in case (especially for those heading into the playoffs).
QB Sage Rosenfels, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Texans' starting QB Matt Schaub left Sunday's loss to Tennessee with another injury and Rosenfels came in to go 17 of 30 for 185 yards, 1 TD, and 1 interception. Although Houston faces a tough matchup with the Tampa Bay #5 pass defense this coming weekend, if Schaub is out, then Rosenfels could give fantasy owners desperate for a QB someone worth picking up for a roster spot this week.
RB Chris Brown, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Since returning from a mid-season injury, Brown has gotten more involved in the Titans' offense the past few games. In Sunday's win over Houston, Brown had 11 carries for 46 yards, plus a TD, and 2 receptions for 13 yards. I would not expect much production each week, but if you are heading into the playoffs looking for RB depth, then Brown could be worth picking up for a roster spot on your team since he is probably available in almost all leagues.
