Week 13: Pickups of the Week
Waiver Wire Watch: Looking Ahead to Week 13
As we head into week thirteen of the NFL season, here are some possible pickups that might still be available in your league...
QB Jason Campbell, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
The third year QB from Auburn has started throwing the ball more in the past few games for the Redskins. In his last three games, he was 23 of 34 for 215 yards, 3 TDs. Against the Eagles, he was 33 of 54 for 348 yards, 2 TDs, plus 1 interception. Against Dallas and on Sunday against Tampa Bay, Campbell was 30 of 49 for 301 yards, 1 TD, plus 1 interception. Campbell has some favorable matchups down the stretch: in week 13 versus Buffalo's #29 pass defense, then faces Chicago (#24 pass defense), at NY Giants (#17 pass defense), and then in week 16, at Minnesota (#32 pass defense). He is a free agent is most normal leagues, so he is worth picking up for a roster spot.
QB Trent Dilfer, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
The fourteen year NFL veteran played very good on Sunday and led San Francisco to a big overtime win over divisional rival Arizona. With Alex Smith out with an injury, Dilfer was 25 of 39 for 256 yards, 2 TDs, and no interceptions. Keep an eye on Smith's status, but it is likely Dilfer will get the start this coming week against Cleveland's #30 ranked pass defense. If your league starts 2 QBs, pick him up and start him.
QB A.J. Feeley, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
We named Feeley last week due to McNabb's injury and with McNabb out against New England on Sunday night, it was Feeley almost leading the Eagles to the upset win. Feeley was 27 of 42 for 345 yards, 3 TDs, but with 3 costly interceptions. Keep an eye on McNabb's status for this week, but if he is out again, then Feeley is worth picking up and possibility starting against Seattle. Because of McNabb's past injury history, his fantasy owners in leagues that have an add/drop cut off date might want to carry Feeley on their bench if they don't have a capable backup.
QB David Garrard, NYJ
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
After missing a few games with an injury, Garrard has looked good in his past two games going 15 of 24 for 189 yards, 2 TDs against the Chargers. This past weekend against Buffalo, he was 23 of 37 for 296 yards, 1 TD. On the year, Garrard has thrown for 1626 yards, 9 TDs, and no interceptions. Jacksonville is 8-3 in the tough AFC and should be in the playoff hunt in the last half of the season. Garrard should be owned and started in leagues that start 2 QBs. He is worth a roster spot in the very larger leagues.
RB Reuben Droughns, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Giants' starting RB Brandon Jacobs was out on Sunday, so Droughns got the start against the Vikings. He had 15 carries for 46 yards and a TD. Jacobs should be back this week, but if you are a Jacobs owner you might want to pick up Droughns as a handcuff, while other fantasy owners should keep an eye on that injury situation. However, if you have a roster spot available, you might want to pick him up to see what develops this week since they face Chicago's # 27 run defense.
RB Andre Hall, ---
MyFantasyLeague availability: 100%FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
With both Travis Henry and Selvin Young out, the Broncos just plugged in RB Andre Hall and he goes off for 167 total yards on Sunday. Hall had 26 carries for 98 yards and a TD, plus he had 2 receptions for 69 yards. The Broncos play Oakland this coming weekend, so whomever is the starting RB warrants a start against that #31 run defense. Henry still has his suspension lingering, plus he is still banged up and although Young will probably be back for week thirteen, I would still grab up Hall for a roster spot just in case because he has proved he is a capable RB.
