Week 12: IDP Sleepers
DT Warren Sapp, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Given the relative dearth of fantasy production from interior linemen, Sapp still holds considerable value in many IDP formats. Though he's only recorded 3 sacks so far this season, Sapp continues to be one of the premier pass-rushing DL's in the league. Also, as a member of the Raiders defense, Sapp spends plenty of time on the field and therefore has more than the usual number of chances to makes plays.
DT Richard Seymour, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
At one point, we weren't certain that Seymour would play at all in 2007, but his healthy return will only bolster an already dominant Patriots defensive unit. The past few games have given him a little time to work himself back into shape after starting the season on the PUP list. Philadelphia has been scorched on the pass rush at times this year, so this is a great opportunity for Seymour – owner of five straight Pro Bowl appearances – to re-establish himself as a force to be reckoned with.
DT Corey Williams, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Has four sacks in his last two games for a total of 6 on the season. If you're hoping to take advantage of the always-generous (and often non-existent) Lions' pass protection and neither of Kampman nor Gbaja-Biamila is available in your league, Corey Williams makes a more than adequate consolation prize. Absolutely worth taking a chance on for this one, though probably not worth a starting spot most other weeks.
LB Freddie Keiaho, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
This promising young linebacker resumes his sophomore season in plenty of time to live up to the sleeper designation many (myself included) afforded him in the pre-season. He looked strong last week after missing four out of five games due to injury and should be safe to deploy against the less-than-stellar opposition that is the Atlanta Falcons.
LB Daryl Smith, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Smith moves to the inside to replace Mike Peterson, who is likely out for the rest of the regular season with a broken hand. A mediocre fantasy performer, Smith's numbers should improve significantly with the move to MLB and he's worth a look in deep leagues or as a temporary replacement for an injured starter.
