Week 13: Start 'Em
QB Josh McCown, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Josh McCown has been a lot more effective moving the ball than anyone could have hoped for, unfortunately it hasn't turned into as many wins as they had hoped. Last week in his best game of the season and career, he passed for 352 yards and two touchdowns. This week McCown faces a below average pass defense in the Minnesota Vikings, who are giving up the fourth most passing yards per game at 281 yards per game. If you need help at QB, please don't be afraid to give McCown a chance
QB Carson Palmer, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
If you're looking for a starting quarterback this week, you don't have to look any further than Carson Palmer. Palmer has been what the Cardinals had hoped for when they traded for him in the off season and he has led them to a surprising 7-4 start to the season. Palmer has been especially hot recently, as the Cards are riding a four game winning streak, during which time he has averaged 286.5 yards and 2 touchdown passes per game. This week Palmer gets to face the worst pass defense in the NFL, the Philadelphia Eagles, who are giving up a league worst 300 yards passing per game. If Palmer is sitting stashed on your bench, give him a look and start him this week
RB Cordarrelle Patterson, PIT
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Cordarrelle Patterson is finally starting to show signs of life. When Patterson was drafted by the Vikings in the 2013 draft they knew they had drafted a player oozing with talent, he was just raw and would need time to adjust. The Vikings were bringing him along slowly, but it seems over the past two weeks they have removed the kids gloves and are doing what they can to get him more involved in the offense. In both starts, he has led the team in targets with 20, although only catching 11 of them for a meager 82 yards. Patterson looks ready for that break out game and the Vikings look ready to make that happen. With all the looks his way, don't be surprised if Patterson has his breakout game and finally surpasses 100 yards in a game. Give him a look.
Injury Status: Out - Coach's Decision
RB Benny Cunningham, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
The Rams' running game is like a revolving door of running backs, and now it looks like it will be Benny Cunningham's chance to play. Undrafted out of Middle Tennessee State, Cunningham has played sparingly this season, but when called upon he has performed, gaining 238 yards with a touchdown. In the last two weeks he has really broken out, gaining 72 yards on only seven rushes two weeks ago, and then last week replacing Zach Stacy he rushed 13 times for 109 yards and scored his first career TD. Stacy is dealing with concussion issues and he has yet to practice. If that keeps up and he doesnt play, Cunningham is worth a start at RB2 as he should get between 15-20 touches. So if you need help at RB in 12 team leagues, give him a look.
RB Ben Tate, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Often the best times to start someone is the week after they have a horrible game. Not only do the players want to make up for their poor performance, but the coaches and QB will do what they can to get this guy going. This week, look for that to be Ben Tate, who is coming off his worst rushing game of the season -- gaining only one yard on seven carries. He did at least have five receptions for 26 yards, but still had a really crappy game and he was replaced by rookie Dennis Johnson who was much more effective. Not much to look into here, as Tate ran the ball very well two weeks before when he gained 117 total yards. This week the Texans face the second worst run defense in the Patriots, who are giving up 140 yards per game (including being gashed for 280 yards by the Denver Broncos). If you need help at RB2 or flex this week, Tate could be your man.
