Week 6: Start 'Em
QB Ben Roethlisberger, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
This has been by far the worst start of a season for Ben Roethlisberger. Not only is Pittsburgh 0-4, but Ben struggled very badly in the first two games, passing for only 443 total yards and two touchdowns. He has started to come alive in the last two games, passing for 789 yards and three touchdowns, although most of the production came once the Steelers were out of the game. Luckily for fantasy owners, when a players puts up his stats it doesn't matter, as long as he does. The Steelers were on a bye last week, allowing Ben and others to rest up and come out for week 6 fresh and ready to go. In week 6 the Steelers face a very tough Jets defense who are third best in the league at defending the run, meaning the Steelers offense will rest on Big Ben's shoulders. Look for him to put up numbers much like he did the past two games, so if you need a quarterback this week, Big Ben might be the answer.
RB Willis McGahee, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Often the most important indicator of how a player might perform will be the amount of touches he receives in a given game. For the fantasy studs it doesn't matter as much because they can produce more with less touches and they should be started every week no matter what. However, when it comes to lesser players, the amount of touches one might get could be everything. After the Browns traded Trent Richardson they brought in Willis McGahee to help their running game this season, and while he isn't the McGahee of old, he is still capable of producing enough to help you and them win some games. Cleveland brought him along slowly in his first two games of the season giving him only 23 total carries for five yards; while in his third game, he rushed the ball 26 times for 72 yards and his first touchdown of the season. Look for more of the same down the road from McGahee, making him a low end RB2 or a flex start.
RB Knowshon Moreno, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
Going into the 2013 season, the talk in Denver was that they would use a three headed rushing attack, but most wouldn't have expected for veteran Knowshon Moreno to be at the top of that depth chart. Through the first five games, Moreno leads all Broncos running backs in all categories by a wide margin and with how good the offense has looked, that shouldn't change any time soon. This coming week the Broncos face a pathetic Jacksonville team that is bad at everything, including being the worst rush defense in the NFL - giving up a league worst 160 yards per game on the ground. Moreno makes for a very good RB2 or flex play this week.
WR Keenan Allen, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
It only took Keenan Allen three weeks to become part of the Chargers offense. Over the last two games, Allen has had 11 receptions for 195 yards and his first NFL touchdown. Allen is taking over the spot that was held by Malcolm Floyd, who provided the Chargers with speed and height - two things that were lacking since he went down with a season ending injury. While much of Allen's production comes during the 2nd halves of games - because of the Chargers being down -, this could be a regular thing as San Diego isn't a good team and will, more often than not, be losing. This week should be no different as the Chargers will be in a tough game vs. the Indianapolis Colts. San Diego will be looking Allen's way often. Start him if you need a WR3 or flex
WR Mike Williams, ---
FANTASY PROFILE / STATS & MORE
So many things line up for Mike Williams to have a good game in week 6. Williams went into week 4 dealing with a hamstring issue and despite having rookie quarterback Mike Glennon making his first start, he was able to catch four passes for 38 yards and a touchdown. Tampa Bay had a bye last week, which allowed Williams time to get treatment for the hamstring, but more importantly it allowed him to work on his timing with Glennon. The other big positive for Williams is that he is facing the Philadelphia Eagles, who are giving up a whopping 326 yards per game passing and haven't been able to stop anyone this season. Even in victory this past week the Eagles gave up 330 yards passing to the lowly 0-5 NY Giants. Williams makes for a WR3 or flex start
