Playoffs: Top RBs
In the era of RBBC, it has become trendy in some fantasy football circles to wait on running back. Not so much in these playoffs. Considering two of the best options (Adrian Peterson, Marshawn Lynch) are one-and done candidates, while another (BenJarvus Green-Ellis) is injured and the pecking order of an entire backfield (Green Bay) is hardly defined, the viable candidates dry up quickly. Land two of the top 6-8 from this group and consider yourself ahead of the game, though when to select Peterson makes for a great guessing game.
1) Arian Foster, Houston - He's a stud, the Texans likely play at least twice. Don't over think it.
2) Steven Ridley, New England - Weekly unpredictability in the Patriots backfield plus messers Woodhead and Vereen are only reasons the TD-scoring Ridley doesn't rank number one.
3) Knowshon Moreno, Denver - How did we get here??? From irrelevant a few weeks back to late season fantasy stud, Moreno is now one of the elite playoff options playing in the Broncos run-friendly offense.
4) Adrian Peterson, Minnesota - If you believe the Vikings beat Green Bay two straight weeks, move All Day to the top off this list.
5) Ray Rice, Baltimore - Another candidate for two games. That simple.
6) Alfred Morris, Washington - The Redskins' "other" rookie carried Washington in Week 17 with 200 rush yards and three touchdowns. In the process Morris broke the franchise single-season rushing record. Facing the Seahawks run defense is no easy task, but the Florida Atlantic product has the carries to himself.
7) Marshawn Lynch, Seattle - If you believe the Seahawks win at Washington, move Lynch into the top three.
8) Frank Gore, San Francisco - Arguably the best value pick among the top 8, considering Gore's production and the 49ers' penchant for running.
9) Michael Turner, Atlanta - And now things start becoming dicey. Touchdowns keep coming for the burly back, but little else.
10) DuJuan Harris, Green Bay - The Packers' main back could become a fantasy playoff steal. Now the question, who will be that guy? Right now, the change of pace Harris is trending that way.
11) Danny Woodhead, New England - You never know when or if the Patriots' workmanlike scatback becomes the lead dog for a game. If New England plays three times, he will at least once.
12) Vick Ballard, Indianapolis - Double digits in four of his last five games.
