Quarterback Rankings

Anthony Calvillo and most outstanding player Travis Lulay were the cream of the crop in terms of fantasy QB's. Two other big names, Henry Burris and Ricky Ray, have changed teams. Look for a bounce back year from Darien Durant.

1. Anthony Calvillo – Montreal Alouettes
   Despite being 39 years old, Calvillo still led the CFL in yards passing and tied for the league lead in touchdown passes (32) during the 2011 season. As long as he stays healthy there's no reason that Calvillo won't pass for at least 4,500 yards and 30 touchdown passes again this season. Draft him as the #1 QB.
2. Travis Lulay – BC Lions
   Lulay surprised everyone on his way to leading the BC Lions to the Grey Cup and most outstanding player award, passing for 4,815 yards and tying the league lead in TD passes (32). Look for another big year from Lulay.
3. Henry Burris – Hamilton Tiger-Cats
   Burris got replaced mid season by Drew Tate and was traded to Hamilton in the off season. In Hamilton he re-unites with new Head Coach and his former OC in Calgary, George Cortez. Burris will have a great opportunity to have a bounce back year, with receivers like free agent signee Andy Fantuz, super sophomore Chris Williams, veteran Dave Stala and rookie Sam Giguere.
4. Darien Durant – Saskatchewan Roughriders
   Durant had a brutal 2011 and so did Saskatchewan. Look for a bounce back year. While he might never put up the same numbers he did in 2010, I see no reason he can't pass for 4,000 yards, rush for over 400 and have a combined 25 touchdowns.
5. Drew Tate – Calgary Stampeders
   Tate took over mid way through the 2011 season and the Calgary staff liked him so much they were willing to trade Henry Burris in the off season. Look for Tate to have a break out year, lots of upside with him.
6. Ricky Ray – Toronto Argonauts
   Ray was traded to Toronto in the off season after spending his entire CFL career with the Edmonton Eskimos. I don't expect much from Ray as Toronto is very weak on the O-Line and at receiver and he is learning a whole new system.
7. Buck Pierce – Winnipeg Blue Bombers
   Despite only putting up mediocre numbers, Pierce got hot late and led the Blue Bombers to the Grey Cup. I don't expect a repeat of that this season and he is too much of an injury risk to rely on.
8. Steven Jyles/Kerry Joseph – Edmonton Eskimos
   With Ricky Ray gone, the Edmonton quarterback position will be a big question mark for the first time in years. Neither options is very good and I don't expect much of anything from either of them.
