Best Bets for Week 15 of the NFL season - Thursday edition

Who will win, step up and get beat down in Week 15 of the NFL season...

Just going to get down to business today as I've spent way too much time focusing on the Redskins front office changes to think of something terrible pithy to say. Though my initial thought - yippee!

Tomorrow I will post my thoughts on all of this week's games. As a reminder, email any questions, be it about lineup decisions, available free agents or my take on which Survivor contestant has the best chance to oust the amazing Russell to ben.standig@fftoolbox.com and I will respond before the start of Sunday's action or your money back.

As always, these fantasy musings do not reflect the opinion of FFToolbox.com, but just a solo fantasy writer with too much time on his hands now that he no longer needs to organize the "We need a GM" rally ...and of course, the picks are for informational purposes only...

Last week: 10-6 straight*, 7-9 spread

Overall (thru Week 14): 143-69 straight; 110-101-1 spread

Indianapolis 27 (-3) JACKSONVILLE 23: The real question in this game is how long the Colts will keep their main players in it. Will it shock me if they stick with their plans from seasons past and take players out early? No, but I would be disappointed because it is WAY TOO EARLY for the Colts to start resting for the playoffs. If I was in charge, I'd play the players per normal this week, especially since they will have the extra days of rest. Then, sit whomever you want in Week 16, but play everyone at least 2-3 quarters in the finale since they get another week off after that.

For full disclosure, I do not have one single Colts player in any of my leagues (had A. Gonzalez), so I am not having to deal with the will they or won't they play scenario myself. However, unless your other options are very, very comparable, I would stay the course with Colts, especially Manning and Clark. Plus the Jags pass defense is so porous that the Colts could post solid numbers even playing part-time...on the other side, Mike Sims-Walker and David Garrard have a chance to succeed against a vulnerable Colts secondary, but for such a big week I simply I have a hard trusting them after their recent outings.
