Home Team in CAPS

Last week: Straight (3-1), Spread (3-1); Overall: Straight (144-103), Spread (120-124-3)

Green Bay 27 CHIACGO 24 (+3.5): Taking the Pack but giving the points is threading the needle, however a division rivalry game and the home team is getting points?. Love the Aaron Rodgers show and think he is on the verge of taking claim to being the top QB in football. Gets closer to that spot today, as long as Julius Peppers does not overrun the Packers offensive line. The Bears stay right with them before Jay Cutler goes all Favre-ian and makes a crucial mistake late while Rodgers throws for scores to Greg Jennings, Donald Driver and Jordy Nelson in the win.

PITTSBURGH 23 (-3.5) NY Jets 17: If the Jets edge pass rush can dominate the Steelers backup OT's that are actually starting, then Rex Ryan, Bart Scott and crew will have two more weeks to run their yap. However, we know the Steel Curtain will close out the Jets running game, leaving it up to Mark Sanchez to score enough points. Give credit to the second-year QB for reaching the AFC Title game for the second straight season, but he will not have much success being the tasked with being the focal point. Ben Roethlisberger throws scores to Mike Wallace and Heath Miller, James Farrior and Troy Polamalu wreck havoc on defense and Shaun Suisham bangs home three field goals.
