Evans, who is now signed through 2012, is off to an unusually strong start with a 23.7 yards per catch average on 14 receptions. He and quarterback Trent Edwards look to have a solid connection that should improve as the second-year quarterback, along with rookie receiver James Hardy, continues to progress.
