This would be funny if it wasn't true - the rap sheet laden Cincinnati Bengals on Tuesday signed former Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson , who was released this offseason following two alcohol-related events. Benson, who also flamed out on the field, will take the roster spot of RB DeDe Dorsey (who is out for the season with an injury).

Benson should have little initial value other than as a handcuff to Chris Perry, but he could move ahead of Kenny Watson, who was inactive last week on the Bengals depth chart.
