Cowboys' Friday roundup: Felix Jones, Dez Bryant practice; not so Tony Romo

Update: Contrary to what I read and wrote earlier today, Dez Bryant @DezBryant did not practice Friday. He dressed but did not take part. Head coach Jason Garrett said Bryant has progressed well throughout the week and is "optimistic" that he will play Monday night. But if you are really struggling at wide receiver, Kevin Ogletree is looking like a better and better pickup with Bryant still aching and Miles Austin @MilesAustinIII out.

-----

There will probably be a new team every week, but for week three, no team has more fantasy-relevant players nursing injuries of some concern than the Dallas Cowboys. Although the San Diego Chargers are close.
The good news for those depending on running back Felix Jones @felixjones28 and wide receiver Dez Bryant is that it looks like you'll be able to deploy them per usual. Quarterback Tony Romo is a little more of a question mark, and wide receiver Miles Austin didn't practice and isn't expected to play, which was expected.
Jones and Bryant both practiced Friday after missing time earlier this week. Jones separated a shoulder in week two while Bryant has been out of action since the first of the season because of a quad injury. However, both are expected to play against the Washington Redskins.
Romo didn't practice Friday and is considered right now as a game-time decision for Monday night. He is still in a lot of pain five days after suffering a fractured rib and a punctured lung against the San Francisco 49ers.
Austin re-aggravated a hamstring injury against San Francisco and is expected to miss the next few weeks.

Fantasy Analysis:

Since this game is being played on Monday night, the Cowboys will hold one more practice session tomorrow. Right now, Jones and Bryant are on track to play and are fine starts in 12-team leagues (I'm not so sure about Bryant now since he didn't practice Friday. There will be an update Saturday). Bryant's presence is especially important given the absence of Austin.
I know Romo's status is up in the air, but I don't see him missing this game. He found a way to come back after getting hurt and play through all of the pain last week. After a week of treatment, I think he's going to do it again. The Cowboys will do as much as they can to protect his injured rib going into the game. I would still plan on starting him in fantasy leagues, but go pick up Jon Kitna if you have no other QB options just in case.
