Bengals WR Jordan Shipley out for rest of season

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Jordan Shipley @Jordan_Shipley saw his 2011 season end Monday when it was announced by head coach Marvin Lewis that he has a torn left ACL and has been placed on injured reserve. Shipley injured his knee during the third quarter of yesterday's lost to the Denver Broncos. He had caught just four passes for 14 yards on the year.

Fantasy Analysis:

Kind of a deep sleeper early in the offseason, Shipley never really connected with rookie quarterback Andy Dalton. He had just five targets in two games. Andre Caldwell @caldwell87 now becomes the Bengals' full-time slot receiver, but he's not really worth a grab in fantasy leagues. A.J. Green and Jerome Simpson @rome081 are clearly the top two receivers in this offense. After a 136-yard game versus Denver, Simpson will probably be a hot pickup in deep leagues. I guess it should be noted that three of his four receptions, including an 84-yarder, came after when Shipley got hurt.
