Derrick Ward 's season was ended in Week 13 when he suffered a broken fibula (lower leg bone). Ward, who played a brief period while Brandon Jacobs was recovering from a knee injury, showed signs that he could be an NFL starter, but suffered several injuries this season (ankle, groin, and now fractured leg). The good news so far is that Ward's fracture does not appear severe enough to require surgery for repair. Brandon Jacobs is currently recovering from a hamstring injury and may play Week 14, but his return is not definite. NY may have to look to Reuben Droughns this week against Philadelphia.
