UPDATE: Saints' Chris Ivory looking iffy for wild card round
Update: Forget iffy; Ivory is out for this weekend's game and the rest of the season. The Saints put him on injured reserve Tuesday because his left foot injury.
The New Orleans Saints' top two running backs are nicked up heading into their playoff game Saturday at Seattle. While there is no update on Pierre Thomas
, who was inactive for week 17 after re-injuring his left ankle during practice, the news on Chris Ivory
isn't very positive. He left Sunday's game in the second quarter because of a left foot injury. The team didn't say anything about his status Monday, but he was reportedly limping around the locker room on crutches with a walking boot on the foot. The team added running back DeShawn Wynn to the roster Monday, according to Wynn's agent.
Fantasy Analysis:
Wynn is basically a special teams player. If Thomas and Ivory can't play against the Seahawks, it could mean a lot of work for Reggie Bush
. He looked rusty for a number of games after returning from a broken leg. But he finally had a good outing Sunday against the Bucs, gaining 125 yards from scrimmage on 14 touches, 12 of which came after Ivory got hurt. Post-Ivory, he racked up 96 yards. Meanwhile, Julius Jones gained six yards on four carries and lost a fumble. Bush could make for an intriguing pick if you're playing playoff fantasy football, but we'll post news on Ivory and Thomas throughout the week.
