Cedric Benson 's first season as the starter in Chicago was ended Wednesday when the team placed him on the IR. Benson suffered a left ankle injury, the exact diagnosis unknown, in Chicago's win over Denver this past week. Chicago confirmed that Benson would be out for the remainder of the season on Monday, but Wednesday's announcement made it official. Chicago will use Adrian Peterson and Garrett Wolfe as their primary RBs for the rest of the season. Peterson had 45 yards and a TD after replacing Benson Sunday.
