Lions' Vanden Bosch, Hill and Stafford out
Detroit Lions defensive lineman and IDP stud Kyle Vanden Bosch is unlikely to play Sunday in the Lions' home game against the Chicago Bears. Vanden Bosch has not practiced since being injured in Detroit's Thanksgiving game loss to the New England Patriots due to a neck injury. Vanden Bosch said he was in "a lot of pain" when asked about the injury lats week. "I wanted to go back but I couldn't," Vanden Bosch said Wednesday. "Especially on game day, if I can go I'm going to go, but I couldn't." Both quarterbacks Shaun Hill and Matthew Stafford
will not play this week. Drew Stanton will play in their absence. On the season, Stanton is 20 for 36 for 233 yards with one TD and one INT.
Fantasy Analysis:
The loss of Hill and Stafford is basically the death knell of the Detroit Lions offense. Receiver Calvin Johnson is about the only reliable guy left on the team in fantasy football. Stanton is a marginal quarterback, hence why he's the third string quarterback on a very bad Detroit Lions team and deserves no fantasy consideration at this time of the year. For IDP leagues, Vanden Bosch won't play and that might be more relevant for some. He and rookie Ndamukong Suh have been very good defensive linemen plays in fantasy football. The two have combined for nearly 100 tackles and 12 sacks. Vanden Bosch has been a top five DL play all season.
