Patriots' Tom Brady limping noticeably
According to Jeff Howe at NESN.com, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was walking with a limp after speaking to the media on Friday. Brady declined to speak to reporters at first before heading to the locker room. Just a few minutes later, he returned and was walking gingerly with a limp. He had spent extra time putting weight on his left leg while quickly shifting to his right. Brady's right foot is the foot planted and pushed off of when delivering a pass so this injury does not affect his playing status this week. He has looked fine in the two previous practice days throwing the football but this could be an issue if he needs to elude pass rushers or scramble for a first down.
Fantasy Analysis:
Is this much ado about nothing? Not necessarily since any foot injury can cause problems in any number of ways. Limited mobility means he may take more hits in the pocket which could lead to injury. It's also possible that he won't be able to scramble away from pass rushers which may make him force a pass or two. In any case, Brady will start this week against a tough Pittsburgh Steelers defense. This isn't an easy matchup for him and with this nagging injury still bothering him, it's no guarantee that he should be in your lineup this weekend. The Steelers have allowed the 10th fewest points per game to QBs this season so if you've got a backup QB with a great matchup, Brady should ride the pine. Pittsburgh hasn't had a home game in nearly a month and this will be a very tough atmosphere to play in on Sunday night.
