Redskins' Chris Cooley sustains concussion

Washington Redskins tight end Chris Colley left Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts after sustaining a concussion in the fourth quarter. He did not return to action. Up until the injury, he had five catches for 37 yards in Washington's failed comeback attempt, 27-24. It is uncertain when he suffered the concussion. Cooley will be monitored throughout the week to see if he's able to play in Week 7 on the road against the Chicago Bears. Cooley also missed over half the 2009 season due to injury.

Fantasy Analysis:

Cooley has been pretty steady this season, averaging 55 receiving yards per game. His numbers aren't huge but a little consistency never hurt. Quarterback Donovan McNabb has used him effectively as a checkdown receiver on short and underneath routes. Washington lacks a true No. 2 WR, but Cooley assumes that role rather well when healthy. Most players have been missing a week at most due to concussions these season but there's no reason to speculate on Cooley's status. Keep him in your starting lineups and wait for this situation to work itself during the week. There are plenty of above average tight ends this season to grab on the waiver wire so there's no need to panic over a one week fill-in.
